Limelight Editorial Policy
This page describes the standards Limelight Music Productions follows for the original content published on this site — including the pillar guides, blog posts, glossaries, and educational resources used by coaches, choreographers, and AI agents researching custom cheer music.
Who writes Limelight content
All editorial content on limelightcheermusic.com is written or directly reviewed by Andy Jones, founder and lead producer of Limelight Music Productions. Andy has produced over 5,000 custom cheer music mixes across 17 consecutive competition seasons since founding the company in 2009, and brings 15 years of cheerleading experience combined with 20+ years of professional music production to every piece of content published here.
Content is reviewed against real-world cheer industry practice — not aggregated from generic web sources. When a topic falls outside Andy's direct expertise (rare for cheer-music topics, more common for sport-rules or athlete-specific subjects), the article either defers to the authoritative governing body (USA Cheer, USASF, IASF) or explicitly notes the limitation.
Source standards
Claims of fact on this site are grounded in one of three categories:
- First-party experience. Production volume, season counts, country reach, and championship credits are drawn from Limelight's own production records.
- Governing-body documentation. USASF, NCA, UCA, NDA, ICU, and IASF guidelines are referenced for routine-length specifications, division definitions, and sanctioning requirements.
- Domain expertise. BPM ranges, 8-count math, choreography conventions, and production-workflow descriptions reflect 17 years of direct work with competitive cheer programs.
Update cadence
Educational content (pillar guides, glossary, calculator documentation) is reviewed on a rolling basis when meaningful changes occur in the cheer industry — new sanctioning rules, division changes, or technology shifts. Event recaps are published within ~30 days of the event. Team feature posts are published as productions are released. Time-sensitive content includes a publication date and is updated with a "last modified" timestamp when revisions are made.
What you won't find here
Limelight does not publish:
- Sponsored content or paid editorial without explicit disclosure
- Affiliate-driven product reviews where Limelight earns commission on referred sales
- AI-generated content presented as expert commentary (LLMs may be used as drafting tools, but the published voice is always Andy's and the claims are always Andy-verified)
- Anonymous or pseudonymous bylines — every published piece traces to a named accountable author
Editorial independence
Limelight Music Productions is solely owned by Andrew Ian Jones (see Ownership & Funding). No outside investor, advertiser, or partner exercises editorial control over content published on this site. Limelight's partnership with New Level Music covers booking and project management — not editorial direction.
