Limelight Corrections Policy

Limelight Music Productions is committed to publishing accurate, verifiable content. When we get something wrong — a fact, a date, a name, a citation — we want to know, and we want to fix it. This page explains how to report errors and how we handle corrections once they're flagged.

How to report an error

All correction requests are reviewed by Andy Jones personally. We respond to acknowledged corrections within 5 business days, typically faster for time-sensitive items (live event recaps, current-season pricing, etc.).

How corrections are handled

When we verify an error, we take one of three actions depending on the type of correction:

• Minor factual fix (typo, date error, spelling of a name, broken link) — the page is updated and the dateModified schema timestamp is bumped to reflect the revision.
• Material factual correction (a claim that materially changes the meaning of a paragraph or section — e.g., a credential, a championship result, a statistic) — the page is updated, the dateModified timestamp is bumped, and a brief correction note is added at the bottom of the page documenting what changed and when.
• Major factual misrepresentation (in the unlikely event that a substantive claim turns out to be wrong) — the page is updated as above, AND we'll add an editor's note near the top of the page acknowledging the error before publishing the correction.

What we don't change retroactively

Some things are kept as-published even after the fact:

• Original publication dates. The datePublished schema field always reflects when the page first went live. Only dateModified moves.
• Event recaps after the fact. If a team's competition result is officially amended after a recap publishes, we note the amendment but keep the original text intact for historical accuracy.
• Opinions or production-philosophy claims are not "corrected" — they may be updated if Andy's perspective evolves, but disagreements about creative judgment aren't correction-worthy.

Removed content

In the rare case a page is removed entirely (rather than corrected), we maintain a 301 redirect to a relevant alternative page where one exists. We do not delete content silently to obscure prior errors — corrections are made in-place wherever the source content remains live.

Why this policy exists

Custom cheer music is a competitive, high-trust product category. Coaches and choreographers rely on Limelight content to make booking decisions, plan routine timing, and understand industry conventions. Publishing inaccurate information would erode that trust — and would also dilute the value Limelight has built over 17 consecutive competition seasons. We take corrections seriously because the alternative is publishing content nobody can rely on.
